Safety and stop conditions
A sound methodology must know when to stop analysis because risk, uncertainty or mandatory validation makes a stronger conclusion unjustified.
Authorial methodology
The methodology was developed by Oleksandr Koretskiy from long-term engineering, project and consulting practice and formalized for systematic analysis of technical, technological and business problems.
When analysis should be bounded
— high risk to people, equipment or environment;
— regulated work requires formal approval;
— a critical unknown controls the decision;
— data are insufficient for calculation or verification;
— testing, certification or specialist sign-off is required.
What STOP means
STOP is not failure. It is a valid engineering outcome: state the reliability boundary and identify the specific evidence, test or specialist needed before proceeding.
