Authorial methodology
The methodology was developed by Oleksandr Koretskiy from long-term engineering, project and consulting practice and formalized for systematic analysis of technical, technological and business problems.
From symptom to problem
An initial statement often describes a symptom, a familiar solution or a wish. Engineering formulation should identify the function, unwanted effect, required outcome and constraints.
Questions to ask
— What actually fails or underperforms?
— For whom and under which conditions is it a problem?
— What result is required instead?
— What has already been tried and why was it insufficient?
— Which constraints must not be violated?
